A lot of people are trying to figure out how to edit or add extra fields in their product pages when they are exporting their Zen Cart feed to Google Shopping. While you can certainly try to tweak the Numinix Google Merchant Center Feeder so that you can do this manually, you can just download the free Numinix Product Fields for the Zen Cart module that enables you to add extra fields without a fuss.

This works for Google Merchant Center Feeder along with other Numinix Zen Cart modules.

Here’s a list of some optional fields you can use for your product pages:

  1. Dimensions. You can create fields for length, width, height, and diameter for your items.

  2. Date Added. This enables you to change the “date added” attribute of any item. This can be very convenient for you if you want to display products by date or if you are re-launching an older product.

  3. Discontinue. You can have a checkbox to mark some products that have been discontinued. This is very convenient for you if you set up your Zen Cart to automatically take out items when they are no longer available or when they are sold out.

  4. Out of Stock. Here, you can indicate that an item is out of stock but you can still have it displayed as part of your inventory.

  5. MSRP – Here, you can set the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. The SRP can remain visible even when you offer a new lower price so that customers will know they are getting a good deal.

  6. Wholesale Price. This allows you to offer a lower price when a wholesale purchase is made. This is compatible with the Customer Wholesale module.

  7. Continental Shipping. You can include a field for each continent where you can set a different shipping rate for the product.

  8. Second Description. You’re not limited to just a single description, and this field contains your second description. It’s up to you as to how you’ll want to display this new text, along with the location of the second description.

  9. Secret Product. Sometimes you don’t want everyone to see certain products. You can mark an item as secret, and you can set conditions that will enable a user to see your secret items. For example, you can allow the display of a certain product listing and its info pages when the customer completes a certain purchase, or if the customer is a repeat customer.

  10. SKU. It adds an SKU (stock keeping unit) for your Item.

  11. UPC / ISBN. These are the fields for your item’s Universal Product Code and International Standard Book Number.

  12. Stock by Attributes Link – This creates a link to your item in the stock by attributes page.

So when you think your product’s info is a little bit too sparse, just download the free Numinix Product Fields. That should solve your problems right away if you want to add extra fields on your product’s info page.
